Sigma Trust Intl` LLC “Sigma” is a privately-owned partnership, created in July 2016, and housed within its parent company Global Trust Advisors (GTA). Established in 1997, as Grant Thornton Advisors, GTA is a company specialising in financial and corporate services, and has an extensive worldwide client network, which include Investment Funds, holdings and commercial enterprises, companies listed in the Stock Exchange, as well as other SME’s.

The Sigma team is comprised of 15 professionals, who jointly accumulate expertise and know-how from distinct backgrounds, including former Investment and Private bankers – Jefferies, Kleinwort Benson, Banque International de Luxembourg and Novo Banco, and from Auditing/Accounting firms – Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young, Coopers & Lybrand and KPMG.

The Team operates from Luxembourg (HQ), Paris and Lisbon, and focuses on the following advisory and buy-side services .

SERVICES

MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS

The Team is comprised of generalists focusing on SME transactions in Africa, Western Europe and South America.
The transactions typically have an Enterprise Value of Euros 100 million to Euros 500 million, and are usually Sell side oriented.

RESTRUCTURING & RECAPS

Sigma’s focus is on both Debtor and Bondholder assignments. The geographical focus is Western Europe, and the Enterprise Value is Euros 100 million to Euros 400 million. Moreover, the Firm also advises on leverage recaps.
(debt and hybrids), PIPES and Public to Privates. Our Clients are mainly heavy industry, healthcare, gaming, sports, entertainment, aviation and from the fashion industry.

PRIVATE EQUITY

Our main strategy with our buy-side Clients – private equity sponsors, hedge funds and family offices, is to originate investment opportunities and help them with their exits – primarily trade sale and reverses. The Enterprise Value for these clients is Euros 500 million to Euros 3 billion, and the geographical focus is Western Europe.
All sponsor driven transactions are derived from the Luxembourg office.

CORPORATE FINANCE

Sigma focuses on arranging financing for corporate clients, private equity funds and family offices. The financings are global in scope and range within an EV of Euros 80 million to Euros 1 billion.
The capital raise structures are typically high yield, corporate bonds, term notes, mezzanine or hybrids in nature.

SOVEREIGN DEBT/EQUITY

Sigma specializes in capital raising for the Emerging Markets, in Africa, South America and Southern Asia. Many of the transactions are for infrastructure projects ranging from hospitals, housing, utilities, dams, ports, telecoms and aviation.
Transaction value ranges – Euros 180 million to Euros 3.billion.

TAX/ACCOUNTING

As a complement to our financial advisory services, Sigma, through its parent company Global Trust Advisors S.A. (GTA) provides all tax, domiciliation and accounting services for a full range of companies – Corporate, Family Offices, and Private Equity funds. Presently, GTA provides services to 450 global clients all domiciled in Luxembourg.

PRINCIPAL INVESTMENTS

Through a series of Private Equity Funds, Sigma invests in special situations requiring – venture capital, bridge loans (mezzanine), LBO’s (with management only) and secondary financing.
Presently, the team is interested in opportunities in Western Europe, across all industries and within a range of EV Euros 50 million – Euros 300 million.
